In Guatemala, poverty, hunger, and violence are parts of everyday life. The children that we serve face challenges like these, constantly. Priorities like education and play are often pushed to the side, and children must work to help provide for the family. The ministry of Lifting Kids provides a safe place for these children to grow, learn, and play. Bellies are fed, minds are cultivated, and hearts are refreshed. It is very important to us that every child who walks through our doors is known by name. We prioritize the safety of every student in our program, as well as our relationships with each student and their families.

We believe in our students and hold them accountable to our program’s standards of character, effort, and participation. We recognize parents as their children’s number one advocates and our sponsorship program supports this system of accountability and standards.

The Lifting Kids sponsorship program connects a student with a sponsor who provides a monthly scholarship for the student to receive classes and groceries through Lifting Kids. The sponsor has to option to communicate with their student, encouraging them, while being a positive role model in their life. The average child in Guatemala attends school for only four years. 25% of the population is illiterate. Children need to know that somebody believes in them. They need to be encouraged to stay in school, work hard, and go after their dreams. By sponsoring a child, you could be the difference.

EACH SPONSORSHIP IS $60 A MONTH

To become a sponsor, please email liftingkids@gmail.com. We have waiting children not yet listed on our website.

Sponsors are asked to commit to sponsoring for 12 months.

 Our Commitment

  • Facilitate a relationship between you and your sponsored child, as much as possible.

  • Letters from your child will be sent to you for the year.

  • We will ensure the sponsored child receives their sponsorship in the proper form.

How will my sponsored child receive their sponsorship?

  • The sponsorship is designed to cover the actual funds it cost the ministry to have a student enrolled in a program.

  • This tuition helps to cover costs associated with the building, staff, resources, educational activities, and groceries.

  • In the event that classes are suspended, your sponsored child will receive their sponsorship in the form of food, medication, or other necessities.
